This Isn't A Badge Job

Most seasonal work hands you a badge, a schedule, and nothing to show for it. Ninety days later you're right back where you started.

We run the opposite play. You show up green, we put real tools in your hands, and you leave with a trade — in an industry that barely existed a decade ago and lands on more roofs every season. Get in early enough and you're not the new guy for long.

The season ends. What you learned doesn't.

The Apprenticeship Ladder

Every installer who comes through Get Lit goes onto a written skills ladder. Defined requirements at every level, and your pay rises as your capability does.

Day 1

Apprentice 1

First 30 days

Learn the system, the tools and the tape measure. Prep structures for wiring. Install channel, lights and cover. Work safely from a ladder at two-story heights.

Day 31

Apprentice 2

Days 31–90

Run wire through attics and exteriors. Mount power supplies, controllers and enclosures. Make reliable crimp connections.

After 6 months

Craftsman

Pay goes up

Wire up the control panel. Make every channel cut and bend yourself. Install 125+ feet of channel a day. Operate the lift.

After 2 years

Journeyman

Pay goes up again

Calculate power and amplification. Light electrical work. Set up and explain systems to customers. Troubleshoot wiring, control and connection faults.

Top of the ladder

Master

Run your own jobs

Run a full job start to finish without a project manager. Top of the pay ladder.

What You'll Actually Learn

These transfer straight into electrical, solar, low-voltage, security and AV work. Whether you stay with us or not, you keep them.

01 · Wiring

Low-voltage wiring and splicing. Reliable crimp connections that hold up in Florida weather.

02 · Rough-In

Running data and power wire through attics, soffits and crawl spaces without tearing up a customer's house.

03 · Fabrication

Measuring, cutting and bending cut-to-fit aluminum channel to a roofline. Precision work, done fast.

04 · Power

Mounting and wiring power supplies, controllers and enclosures. Calculating load and amplification.

05 · Height

Safe ladder and lift operation. Most days you're 8–16 ft up. Some jobs reach 30–40.

06 · Diagnostics

Troubleshooting power, data signal and connection faults — the skill that makes you hard to replace.

The Pay

$18–$22 / HOUR TO START

Based on experience. Paid weekly. Once you're trained you move onto our production pay system — if your crew's production beats your hourly for the week, you get the higher number. Move faster, make more. Move up the ladder, the rate moves with you.
